  ok i have googled this and can't find a list of foods that contain blood.. i have learned from this board that chocolate, milk and hotdogs contain blood.. does anyone know of more or when i can find a list of foods that contain blood?.

  i would love to see some friends of mine change their diet....lol

  Pepperoni pizza: The really self-righteous dubs do refuse to eat pepperoni pizza. Most of the witnesses I know eat it. When I was in my really self-righteous phase, I wouldn't eat it unless I knew for sure what the ingredients were. This was not that big of a hardship because I don't even like Pepperoni. It was one of those sacrifices that made me look good but didn't really hurt!

  Most people here like it, and so they just ask their favorite pizza places to give them a list of ingredients. I started looking into the ingredients of all the brands of pepperoni for sale up here (again, back in the self-righteous phase) because my husband and son liked Pepperoni. I could not find one brand of Pepperoni that actually listed by-products on the ingredients. So I figured it was all another case of "much JW ado about nothing". After that, I didn't bother checking anymore.

  (he first explains that we should try to view jesus as a poet teaching us how to live beautifully.).

  when jesus is questioned as to the greatest commandment and his reply "you must love god with your whole heart, mind and strength.

  What this is about is realizing the perfect and pristine wholeness and purity that is our true and real identity, already.

  Well said. This does make sense and speaks to what I think it means to self-liberate even the antidote. Whether we believe the antidote to our perceived problems lies in Jesus, Allah, Buddha, the WTBTS, psychology, or assuaging our out of control egos or neurosis, to find our true selves or natures we must look deeper into ourselves rather than simply following the teachings of others as if they could supply us the answers.

  Hi James: I haven't spoken to you in a while.

  In a book I am currently reading on buddhist philosophy, it is described this way. "We must self-liberate even the antidote." I took this to mean that while certain masters or teachings can guide us in the right direction, we don't want to become so attached and enslaved to their teachings that they cause more problems for us then they were originally intended to help us solve. Or we become so convinced that we have found the correct path to enlightment that we are now "experts" and no longer have anything to learn.

  Kind of reminds me of the jw's a little.

  i have mentioned, before, that i live in the portland, or metro area.

  i'm still anonymous, on here, but there is a very large concentration of witnesses in the portland area, and i think i'm pretty safe on this disclosure.

  hopefully this next disclosure won't tip my hand to the undercover witness loyalists.

  Ok, about the blood in chocolate thing. As a die hard chocoholic I feel compelled to clear up this misconception.

  When I was a child, we received a box of chocolates from non-witness relatives at Christmas. Yippee, I said. My dad read the ingredients. They included lecithin. We were not allowed to eat anything that contained lecithin as this was believed by witnesses to be another term for blood, similiar to "by- products" in sausage meets. This was in fact a partial truth. Maybe there is some type of lecithin that is derived from blood, I don't know. However, lecithin used in commercial baking products and candies and ice cream and chocolate milk is derived from soy. In the past, companies did not clarify this on their ingredients label. Now, most of them do, in Canada, anyway. Because, it wasn't specified that the lecithin was derived from soy, witnesses wouldn't eat many cookies, cakes, and candies because they might contain BLOOD! oooooh. We were not allowed to eat fortune cookies once for the same reason when I was a kid.

  Now, if you are wondering how witnesses can take a little bit of fact, embellish it and then twist it into an urban legend that makes no sense, just think about 607, 1914, and blood transfusions! Makes sense now doesn't it?

  I am still pissed off about those chocolates my dad threw away. It's the food of the God's ya know!

  Like many a great story and hollywood movie, I believe the Bible is loosely based on real characters and real events with much poetic and literary license taken. Inspired? Probably not. Inspiring? Millions of Christians can't be wrong!

  Speaking of movies, my son and I went to see "The Da Vinci Code" to see what all the fuss was about. He really like it and asked me what I thought. I said it was OK, but I thought it was pretty far-fetched. "No more far-fetched than the Bible" he shoots back. Touche!

  Are there not enough anti-Witness books out there?

  every once in awhile i will read comments about someone thinking a new anti-witness book needs to be written, to expose something.

  well, recently i took the time to look over the search engines of the internet and found something interesting.

  when you type in "jehovah's witness" or "watchtower", you found almost 3 to 1, negative sites and information on the witnesses.

  Lady Lee: I and many others will be very greatful to read your book. We know how many thousands can relate to the abuse issue. While the abuse angle is hardly unique (wish that it were), what is so inspiring about your story is how you have turned your past around and used it to help mold you into the kind of person who is devoted to helping others. It is not just a woeful tale but gives hope.

  I would be proud to own a copy of your book when it is finished.
